In the days of the imperialism ruled the country Sinhalese & Buddhists
had to face to unjust of British rulers. A few of National heroes gathered and
build the Ananda College the heart of the Sinhalese & Buddhist
education to Protect the Sinhalese nation & to raise up the skills ,
chivalrousness & knowledge of the Sinhala Buddhists. From then to now the
glory of the leadership that has given to the nation by the Anandians has been
celebrated by them on there 125th Anniversary few days ago. Continuing
that glory from history to future the Old boys Association of Ananda College
has done many more projects for students of Ananda College and for all the
students of Nation. Continuing the glory
of OBA of Ananda college 93 Group of OBA had Organized a career guidance
workshop for the 4th consecutive year at the 22nd of
September.
Participants
had chance to listen to the many Discourses given by famous old Anandians and
by the human resource management expertise in Sri-Lanka. Participants to the
G.C.E A/L Examination in each year are the main target of this annual workshop
program . To inform them about how to
develop their lives in career path ways and how important is the resource of
human and resource of labour to the development of the country was the main
expectation of this workshop. Most of the participants were students from other
schools than Ananda college to this year workshop. It shows the popularity and the success the program has reached in
such a short time. The workshop was held from 7.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. at the
Kularahne Hall of Ananda College. Breakfast , Lunch and Stationeries were
supplied by the organizers to all the participants for free . Majority of the
participants were stayed until the end of the day . That shows how substantial
and freshes the workshop was.

The
workshop was started under supervision of the principal of Ananda College Mr.
L.M.D. Dharmasena . As the first lecture of the day old anandian Wing commander
Keerthi Kanaharaarachchi was gave a lecture about positive attitudes and motivation to the
future targets . That discourse seems to be the most attractive lecture of the
Day. The Lecture that given by Senior Lecturer
Dr. M. Saman Dassanayake Can consider as the main lecture of the workshop. That was acknowledge the students about Important
of University studies, Career path ways after higher education & how
important is being an under graduate student. The lecture was rich with Musical
Items and Lecturer Informed the students about the meanings of songs that were
played.

Mr. Ajith P. Perera and Mr. Dushyantha mahabaduge were also given some lectures
about career guidance. As the Last Lecture of the workshop experienced Journalist Mr. Kingsly Rathnayake
was given a speech about Important of journalism as a Profession.At the end of
the workshop a certificate given to all the participants, And also souvenirs
were presented to all the lecturers . A.P.I.I.T was the main sponsor for this
program. 93 group was the organizers of the workshop. More than 500 students and teachers were
participated to this workshop this year.
Many more Congrats from students and teachers were goes organizing committee
for the success and well organizing of the workshop.
For whole 125 years the Ananda has given there maximum contribution to
the country. May the blessing of whole nation be with them for this kind of missions they do to the
country.
